Laura Jiga Iliescu, PhD, is senior researcher at the “Constantin Brăiloiu” Institute of Ethnography and Folklore of the Romanian Academy (Bucharest) and visiting professor at the University in Bucharest. She is also member of the “East-West” research group on the ethnology of religion (ERC project 324214). Her main domains of interest include: christian religiosity and folklore (texts, images, practices), orality and literacy, traditional and modern beliefs narratives, toponymic narratives, hagiographies, fairytales, mountaineous ethnology (Carpathian), fieldworking in oral culture and archiving oral documents.
